Biography
Professional:
2002: received the full Tourcard for the LET season 2003 after
finishing 4th in the Qualifying School
2003: with 21 years youngest member of the LET , played 10 events in
her rookie season with her best finish T18 at the BT Open in
Northern Ireland and finished 79th on the LET Moneylist at the
end of the year
2004: after finished 4th at the Women´s Australian Open and 2nd at
the BMW Ladies Italian Open and other top ten she finished
12th on the LET Moneylist
2005: Martina secured her tourcard early in the year with an 8th place
in Tenerife, a 4th place at Open de Espana and other top
finishes. She finished 38th after having withdrawn from the rest
of the season in July because of bulimia.
2006: It was had a hard start in 2006 after that long break but at the
end of the season Martina regained her form, finished 2nd at the
Ladies English Open and 8th at the Dubai Ladies Masters. At
the end of the season she obtained 47th on the LET Moneylist.
2007: Martina had a good start in 2007 with a 22nd and a 11th place
in Australia and Tenerife, she finished 16th in Italy, 7th in
England, 8th in Norway and 12th in Finland and Austria.
Early in October she completed the good year with her first
victory at the Madrid Ladies Masters beating the top 30 players
of the LET.
In addition she won "The 18 Finest" - Ranking which was played
throughout the 2007 LET season over 9 tournaments.
Martina finished Nr. 9 on the New Star Moneylist 2007.
2008: The first tournaments in 2008 took place in Australia
where Martina finished 32nd and 28th. Together with Anja
Monke Martina finished second at the European Ladies
Golf Cup in April and two weeks later at Open de Espana
she consolidated her position with a 6th place, two 10th
places in Scotland and Tenerife and two 4th places in
Portugal and Ireland followed.
Martina crowned her perfect season with a five stroke
victory at the BMW Ladies Italian Open end of July. The
win was her second in 10 months after the 2007 Madrid
Ladies Masters last October.
Martina reinforced her good form in Wales where she got second
after a playoff with Lotta Wahlin. In Finnland Martina finished
3rd and one week later she won her second tournament within
six weeks and her third title since October 2007 on the Ladies
European Tour. She beat Annika Sörenstam in her last
tournament in Europe. Martina is currently 3rd on the LET
Moneylist and 2nd on the Solheim Cup point list for 2009.
